The Narrative now is two pronged. “Evil Republicans” on the left. “Stupid Republicans” on the right.
The actual story that’s being covered only in passing is the monumental screw-up that is ObamaCare. Remember that, no matter how fervid the rhetoric becomes.
And speaking of monumental, here’s the master demonstrating which part of your person should be aimed toward the television news.
I think, perhaps, beautiful also applies.
He does seem to know the appropriate response.
I’m with you, Raebert. I turned my back on the heads, the narrative, the whole industry just about one year ago now. Well, I still catch them online from time to time, mostly in print.
If I want my news ridiculously biased, I’ll stick to the Wild West of Reddit.
Got drawn into another debate yesterday, which I haven’t done in a long time. Still feels largely like a waste of time aside from justifying my own personal beliefs.
Back in ’08 & ’09 the healthcare rhetoric was that cost of care would be cheaper and access to care and the quality of that care would increase. Now the talking points have degraded to how costs of insurance premiums only (which does not equate to access or quality of care, nor does it factor in extra costs beyond your premiums) are “projected” to go down, and why don’t you conservatives like this, anyway, b/c it’s a free market solution dreamed up by the Heritage Foundation so STFU. Any actual bad shit that has personally happened to anyone is merely “anecdotal” evidence and doesn’t count, Fox News is evil, George Bush started two wars, and don’t worry about all these little snags with the Obamacare rollout b/c it’s taken us 100 years or something to get to this point, and at least we’re doing something and moving forward and making progress.
These people honestly don’t care that they’ve been wrong all their lives about pretty much everything and they’ll never hold themselves or any of their dear leaders accountable for the results of their ideologies. It will always be someone else’s fault and things will always get better if they could have just a little bit more control.
Yep, selling insurance now. Big money in it since it is a captive market. Since people are such stupid animals I cannot stop smiling as I realize my full potential as an insurance sales executive.
I also workin IT and I can tell you that what is happening with the government exchanges MUST BE by design. OK, understand this, the dropdown menus that are AJAX based are easy to setup. They are not letting people sign up because once the numbers are known there will be a veritable or possibly literal revolt.
Until then, “AFLAC.”
