Have you heard Badbadnotgood yet? These kids give me hope for the future of music. I don’t know enough about the various jazz sub-categories (fusion, acid, etc.) to say whether or not they are jazz or jazz-inspired, but at the very least they’re some kind of incredible gateway drug to jazz, if not the real thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91v84BpXqXA
I think Dexter Gordon bridled at the term “jazz” and preferred “bebop.” Miles Davis bridled at that term, too, but that dude bridled at everything.
