December 20, 2001—BoraTora, Afghanisand: "Today, we really had to scramble. Our tent blew away in the shockwave of a bomb dropped by our own planes. I wasn't fazed, of course, because I'm here for the long haul, even if it takes three weeks or so to bring the dirty rats to justice. But the other members of our crew were cold and wind-burned. It's especially bad on the lips, and it's been getting worse since some terrorist animal stole our chapstick a few days ago. So we went looking for shelter to hole up in temporarily. Fortunately, our excellent native guides informed us that this Bora Tora region of Afghanisand is filled with caves, and buoyed by this good news we explored some of them. It was tough going. None of them had adequate kitchen facilities, electricity, or running water. We'll look again tomorrow, and as soon as we find one that works for us, we'll go back to our fearless war reporting. That's all for now. Until then, this is Jerraldo Riviera at the front. [Previous Reports]
